Chapter 4: Targun Ruins - Knack 2 Guide - IGN (2024)

Welcome to IGN’s guide for Knack 2. This walkthrough will guide you through each level in its entirety - focusing on locations of hidden relic energy and treasure chests.

4-1 Ancient City of the Sands

Start by following the main path ahead. Go all the way up to the left and hop onto the stone slab. Watch out for the red crystals. When you get close they will explode. Hop across the gap using the hook above. Defeat the scorpion on the other side. Break through the wooden structure here to reveal a relic energy chest. Continue ahead to face two more scorpions. After defeating them, break the leg supporting the water tower. Then, hop on top to access the ledge above.

Then, follow the path to the left to come across a moveable crate. Bring it to the left to reach a relic energy chest. Then, move it back to the right to continue on. Fight the three goblins ahead, watching out for the red crystals and bombs being thrown.

Then, raise the elevator to lift the pillar. Jump onto the small ledge on the front of the pillar to access a small sill to the left. Follow this path to reach a treasure chest. Then, size down and hop through the opening on the left to grab a sunstone. Now, drop down and break the leg of this water tower to send it toward the enemies below. Follow it all the way down and climb on top of it to reach a small hallway leading to a treasure chest.

Now, follow the path to reach a small temple. Hop up and size down to access the small hole in the left wall. Collect the sunstones and relic energy here before hitting the red switch. Then, head through the doorway below. Acquire all the sunstones in this hallway before sizing down and platforming up the ledges ahead. Here, you’ll find the crystal swords. Now, when using the super crystal, your normal punches will be more powerful. Exit the hallway to find the door above open. Head through here to find a convenient super crystal. Use your newfound powers to defeat the goblins here. Continue up the stairway ahead to reach a cutscene.

In the next area, head to the left first to acquire some relic energy. Then, follow the path to the right. Soon, plenty of enemies will appear along with a super crystal. Take them all out. Then, size down and enter through the small hole on the right side of the ship. Inside you’ll face a scorpion and find a relic energy chest. Now, outside the ship, continue to the left. Defeat the goblin archer and scorpion ahead to progress.

Then, use the hook to cross the gap. Before dropping down, turn toward the bottom of the screen to find a relic energy chest. Now, hop down below to face some more goblins. Then, pick up the pillar to the right. Move it all the way up to the left to reach the small hole containing a relic energy chest. Then, move the pillar to the right to continue. Fight through the traps and enemies ahead to reach another wall. Size down to reach a ledge. Then, use the hook to progress.

Defeat the small goblin ahead and move the pillar to the right to reach the top. Fight another goblin archer on your way to another wrecked ship. Look for a small hole to the right. Defeat the enemies inside and continue up the stairs. Now, hop down and fight these goblins before ascending the ramp. Up here, go right to find another toppled pillar. use it to access a relic energy chest above. Then, move it all the way to the left onto the elevator. Size down and use the small ledges to climb up. Then, hop onto the pillar to reach the small hole up to the left. In here you’ll find a treasure chest. Finally, raise the elevator and bring the pillar inside the overhang on the right. Then, size down and climb up. Climb the stairs to reach another quick time event. Press X, X, O, Square, X, and R1 to complete this section. Pull the large lever to finish the level.

4-2 Within the Walls

Start by interacting with the gears to the left to drop the first giant gear down and power the elevator ahead. Ride this down and grab the relic energy chest to the lower left end of the room. Then, defeat the scorpions before moving the pillar to the teal crates on the left. Then, pull the right shelf and then the left. Quickly platform to the top. Now, hop up the red gears. After clearing the first two, jump to the left toward the sunstone. Size down and follow the small hallway to reach a treasure chest. Then, continue up to reach another set of gears to interact with.

Head back down to pass through the open doorway. Now you’ll face several spinning gears, slamming pillars, and dangerous spikes. Clear these obstacles until you reach a rotating pillar with four platforms. Hop to the back to find a small ledge leading to a relic energy chest. Continue on, facing several more obstacles. Be sure to size down and jump when necessary. Soon, you’ll reach the end. Before jumping down, look for another path behind a gate. Ride the rotating platforms to access this area, indicated by a sunstone. Here, you’ll find a small hole leading to a treasure chest.

Then, drop down and take out the scorpions below. Now, pull the lever on the right, then the one on the left. Lastly, pull the lever on the left wall to hop all the way to the top. Ride the elevator down and follow the path, taking out the scorpions along the way. Size down to dodge the obstacles before reaching another elevator. At the top, interact with the gears to drop the final giant gear. Then, go through the small hole to the left. Now, pull the giant lever again to lower the bridge.

Pass through the hallway and descend the stairs. Then, go left and look for a small path further left indicated by a sunstone. Jump all the way up and take out the scorpions and boxes to reveal a small hallway leading to a treasure chest.

Now, continue on the main path to the right. Soon you’ll reach a dead end. Size down to climb the ledges up to the roof. Then, look for a small path to the right, leading to the next area. Defeat the Scorpions and goblins to gain access to the next area. Then, you’ll come across a goblin archer. Finish him off to continue. After that, you’ll enter a room with several enemies and a super crystal. Take them all out before sizing down and crawling through the small hole at the top of the rubble ahead. Gather all the sunstones as you follow the main path to the end of the level.

4-3 Deep Storage

Begin going left, looking for a small path to the left of the large mechanical device. Here, you’ll find a relic energy chest. Then, use a couple heavy punches to hit the spinning switch. This will send power to the facility. Now, ride the elevator down. Go to the right to find some boxes containing iron. Go to the electrical panel on the left and hold R1 to drop iron parts all the way to the far panel. This new energy will open the gate to the right. Then, drop iron parts from this panel to the one on the far right. Bypass the moving panels, they will nullify the power line.

Ride the elevator down to the next area. Then, flip the switch on the far right to continue. Now, you’ll face some ancient robots. After taking them out, draw a line with iron parts from the electrical panel on the left to the dormant one on the right. Before continuing forward, go back to find some new containers on the bottom left. These lead to a small passage containing a treasure chest. Then, follow the path up ahead. Size down and climb the ledges to reach another spinning switch. Turn it to activate the elevator. Ride this down to face another robot. After defeating it, go right to find some spinning switches and moving walkways. Get the switch spinning to activate the platforms ahead. Clear this area to drop down below.

Then, draw a line of iron parts from the dormant panel to the electrified panel to the right. This will bring a crate your way. Now, hit the spinning switch to open the platforms above. Hop onto the crate and up these ledges to leave this room. At the top. hop from the crate on the right to the platform on the left. Size down to walk along the small ledge and reach a relic energy chest to the left before continuing through the doorway. Grab the relic energy chest here before climbing the crates. Go through the doorway and defeat the enemies in the next room.

Now, draw a line of iron parts from the active to inactive panels, avoiding the moving panels on the ground. Go to the back of the room by the small panels and size down to scale your way up. Size up and heavy punch the switch to the left. Then, hop down and retrieve your iron statue before using the crate and platforms to reach the far back area. Now, draw another line of iron parts between the two switches to activate the moving walkway ahead. Size down here to reach the small opening to the left. Keep heading back, passing through the next opening. Finally, climb the crates up to reach another moving walkway. Size down to clear the lasers. Now you’ll face a new spiked shield-wielding enemy. Jump over its attacks and retaliate with heavy punches to take it out.

After this fight, heavy punch the spinning switch to the left to activate the moving platforms. Cross this gap and hit the next switch to activate the opening platforms. Now, retrace your path back to where you fought the shield enemy. Drop a line of iron parts between the two panels to open the gate and access a small hallway leading to a treasure chest. Now, return to the spinning switch on the far left to access the ledge above.

Ride the elevator down and size down to fit through the small hole in the gate at the back. Here, you’ll find a relic energy chest. Dodge the lasers and fight through the robots to reach a giant door. Interact with this door to reach the next area.

Once inside, size down and go through the hole to the right. Pass through the lasers and defeat the robot to access a clear crystal, acquiring Stealth Knack. Now, when sized down, Knack can pass through lasers. Then, go through the laser grid to the right. In the next hallway, size down and go through the small entrance to the right. Hit the switch here to disable the laser grid above. Continue on the path to reach another group of robots. Take out a couple to reveal a super crystal. Use it to finish them all off.

Then, look for a crate at the back of the room. Hop up to the left to find a relic energy chest. Then, go right through the small hallway to finish the level.

4-4 Yurick’s Laboratory

First, go to the left, take out the shield enemies, and hit the switch at the end. Next, hop up top to get the relic energy chest and hit the other switch. Then, pass through the lasers on the left as stealth Knack. Break the boxes to reveal a hole leading to a treasure chest. Next, go to the far right and hop up the platform above and hit the switch. Now, down to the far right and break the boxes. Pull the pillar with the mirror back to reflect the beam to the left. Go back to the middle and up to the room with the next mirror and pull it to the right. Head up to the top to face another group of enemies. To take the fight easier, hit the switch at the far end and the lasers will disappear. Lastly, go up to the large door to pry it open. Ride the elevator up.

Follow the path to reach another room full of enemies. Again, hit the switch to remove the lasers. After defeating the robots, go through the doorway to enter a similar room. Take out these enemies to move through to the next room. Hit the switch up ahead to move the barrier. Then, size down to cross the beams. You’ll face another barrier. Size down and climb up to the opening up top. Hit the middle switch in here to clear the barriers below. Hop back down and cross past the lasers into the next room.

Finish off the enemy ahead. Then go to the room on the left. Pull the far right column to reflect the beam in this room toward the back. Then, drag the closest column into the next room. Now, bring the far left pillar to reflect the beam to the right. Now, adjust the mirror in this room to hit the switch ahead. Now, go through the doorway to the right of this switch to deactivate the lasers to the left. Size down and head through the small opening in the previous room to reach the new area.

After turning the power off to the laser grid, platform up to reach a red switch. Hit this switch to reveal a small hallway ahead. Enter through here to find a treasure chest. Then, go back and hit the switch in order to reach the next area. Use the super crystal here to take out all the enemies. After the fight hit the switch on the right and drag the pillar over to it. Then, use the switch up here to activate a laser. Using the new pillar, point the beam away from the screen. Then, move the further pillar back to move the obstacle.

Now, use stealth Knack to bypass the lasers and platform up to the next area. At the end of the hallway, hit the switch to raise the elevator. When you arrive at the top, a cutscene will trigger. Press Square, X, Square, Circle, and R1 to finish the encounter. Pry open the door ahead to finish the level.
